I need some help guys . I want to wire up some switches to my windows on my racecar. The windows, motors and regulators are installed . I have the wiring diagram but my electrical skills are novice at best . I have the window motor harness spliced and ready, and a couple 20amp fuse wires. However, There are about 8 wires coming from the window motor harness, so my question and where I need assistance at. Is what wires am I going to use for my switches? What wires do I bridge together to make the circuit possible ? etc .Below I have listed out the color and specificities of the wires coming out of the driver side window motor based on the diagram for my vehicle . Please assist me.

Driver window motor

Wire 1: Auto/ VT-LG

Wire 2: DACC/RD-LB

Wire 3: UP/ WH-BK

Wire 4: Down/ YE

Wire 5: Short Drop/ LG-BK

Wire 6: GOC/ LB

Wire 7: B+/VT-YE

Wire 8: GND/BK

Are you just wiring 1 window or trying to get both windows working ? Usually the passenger side has less wires one reason for so many on the drivers side is it controls both sides

Both motors have an equal amount of wires coming out of the motor . I am wiring both the driver and passenger side . I just assumed I would be able to figure out the passenger side after completing the driver side wiring .

I'm assuming the plug is cut off ...i know fooling with it I could figure it out ...but the first thing I'd do is find some stock used plugs with wire leads and switches . I'd match all of those up on both sides ...then that leaves only the power and grounds and the wires that crosses to both sides . What year car is it? And is it a Shelby Mustang ? What all has been removed from the car . I assume to lighten weight

What car did the motor come out of? From what you listed it looks like a newer switch with auto-up and auto-down functions. So a "quad" momentary switch, where if you push half way it moves the window up or down until you stop pressing. If you push the switch past its initial resistance all the way it auto opens or auto closes the window. Depending on the switch you're using will depend on how you want to wire it. (Auto-Up/Down) or just momentary press up/down.

Once you know what kind of window switches you're using that will tell you what wires you need.

Best idea I would have is to try and track down a wiring diagram from either the Haynes manual that goes to the car the motors came out of, or contacting the manufacturer of the motors and asking them directly.

The car is a 2009 Shelby mustang . I have the complete diagram but I am still stumped on how to complete the circuit . I have the original switches with the auto feature . The motor and everything I have installed came from the original car . Everything was removed from the vehicle for weight reduction. The car essentially only has a speedometer inside with a switch panel. I purchased the vehicle to race but I would like to have some of the features back on the car. I have the original wire harness and did cut off the plug , but labeled it according to the diagram before cutting it off. I would love to use the original switches or any type of switch at this point.

Would you have any idea what DACC or GOC stands for . Some of the wires are labeled that on my wiring diagram . I have seen switches wired up before and I know it’s bridged together somehow to create a circuit but I’ve never figured it out or needed to until now .

Also, The vehicle has an engine swap and an aftermarket ECU .or I would have just plugged everything all up . I’m very excited to tackle this project , just need a little expertise and tutelage on basic wiring .

Can you scan or take a photo of the wiring diagram?

DACC I'm going to assume is the switched accessory power wire, also because its Red.

GOC I have no idea. I can figure out some of the colors you listed but give us the names with colors because colors generally represent certain things in the harness.

Also if you haven't posted this question on a Shelby forum yet, might have more luck?

@CRX - You've got a Shelby don't you?

Wire 1: Auto/ VIolet-Light green. (Auto feature)

Wire 2: DACC/Red- light blue (?????)

Wire 3: UP/ White-black (Window Up)

Wire 4: Down/ Yellow (Window Down)

Wire 5: Short Drop/ Light green-Black (interior door light)
Wire 6: GOC/ Light Blue. (?????)

Wire 7: B+/Violet-Yellow (Positive)

Wire 8: GND/Black (GROUND)

I’ve posted on the s197 forum as well as the Shelby forums, No luck . I also posted on an electrical forum but haven’t got a reply yet on my post . I’ve attached the diagrams and also listed out the wiring above .

You could test it with a 12v battery seeing that you know what most of the functions are. 12v/ground are obvious. Window up/down will probably "short" to 12v or in some cases to ground. That's probably all you need. The auto functions are probably the same.

One of those wires may be a safety override. Afaik all "newer" cars (at least 2000+) have a safety override in case a child get their head stuck in the window. Either that or a window "shut off switch" which could still be on both sides because of ease of manufacturing even though it only gets used on the driver side switch panel

DACC probably is switched accessory, so it's only powered when the key is on or the RAP is on (i.e. cars turned off but doors haven't opened so the radio, windows, etc are still "on." I doubt the positive is switched itself via computer because it can draw somewhat substantial current

I have the complete wire harness along with the Smart Junction box . It was all removed but I pretty much have ALL the stock parts for the entire car .
Lost me at race car with power windows.

If I lost you then why you reply? I gotta say the forum culture ain’t for people like me . It’s too many keyboard warriors and ******** . If you don’t got any expertise to throw my way then why say anything . I bought a race car that was completely gutted and has Lexan windows I want to put power windows back In, simple **** . I’ve been on several forums and so far all I got was ******* comment after ******* comment . I don’t race on the street or go to meet ups simply because I would end up putting my registered hands on one of you clowns for forum-Esque remark. Ima use my brain and figure this out on my own . Thank you all especially those who have took the time out to comment and actually help . Appreciate it

No sweat. I was also going to suggest New England Providore (NEP Audio) but it looks like they shut down the shop.
