8" mids into '05 Altima front doors

My mom had an Altima. Hah that’s a terrible thing to start a response with. If I recall the 6.5 is right toward the bottoms edge of the door so there’s not a ton of room left to increase that hole size. Also I thing the door panel is molded to that approximate size so you may have to dremel to ensure clearance. You may be able to sneak a 7” like an anarchy in there and have a bit of overhang

It's the V6 with 6.5 fronts. I'd like to replace the 6.5s with crescendo pwx6 8" mids. Anyone have pics of a similar setup or advice/resource material on how to fabricate the doors to get these 8s to fit? Thanks in advance
Anything is possible I put Kicker Resolution 8s in my 84 S10 doors even though there's no spot for door speakers from the factory ...At least you have something to work with . Mine came out nice enough for me

Are you planning on doing a full sound treatment for the doors?

It can be some work if you seal up the door cavities, make a custom mounting baffle, and fiberglass your door card to fit it.

I'm in the middle of the glass work now and I'm finding it challenging with a busy work schedule, but it'll get done eventually.

I'm glassing my card to hold a ring that a grille will snap into.

This is the baffle for it. It will get sprayed with bedliner before the final install.

So assuming that baffle will bolt onto the door panel from the back side?
Can you send pic of a side view of the baffle and snap some pics along the way of the rest of your project? I'm totally new to audio fab and need to do a ton of research still and watch some how to vids, but I'm pretty confident I'll be able to do it. And yes I'll be doing a full door treatment.

You basically have to decide if you are going to make door pods that essentially become a part of the door card OR you mount them in the main door and probably have to fab something for your door card because they will likely be sticking out too far.

This is my first time at it so I'm still learning myself.

Here's a couple vids. He goes into more detail and gets cuter than you have to but it can give you a general idea.

And this is making the speakers mount in the card itself. Sprayway Customs has some nice vids to learn how to do fiberglass work.

My thought was to remake the door card so that I can mount a grille in the card that will be less than half inch from speaker so I can put a foam ring around the speaker... then the sound is going straight through the grille. This is a pic of me finding the right depth for the "grille ring". I just use a hot glue gun to temporarily hold the ring where I want it.

The bolts in my baffle just thread through the sheet metal.

I lost my phone that had most of my pics but I might be able to get a couple more for you later.

If you post some pics of your door or any specific questions, I'll be happy to try and help if i can.

Disclaimer: im no seasoned pro, just an amateur trying to figure this stuff out.
