Dust cap repair

Ok so I have a JL w0v2-12 that I am using as a home audio sub and it got a puncture in the cone and it has slowly grown over the years and now it is making quite an annoying noise on low notes. This is an older model and I don’t have original purchase receipt so JL warranty is completely out of the question. I’m trying to do this as cheap as possible. What is the best bet? I really kinda don’t wanna just silicone it shut because that looks trashy and I want to actually do it right. It’s about 2 1/2 inches in a curve , so it needs a lot of love , lol. Any help is appreciated , thanks in advance.

I personally would put a light amount of 5 min epoxy over the crack. You can put another dust cap on it but i'm not sure what the cone material is. If its paper you risk it tearing while taking off the old one.
