Buying new sub

I have kicker 10” sub, I’m buying a new 10” JL Audio sub. What’s better 2ohm or 4ohm I’m installing in 03 ram 1500 quad cab. Just need advice on a few things

What enclosure do you currently have the Kicker in? Measurements such as LxWxH,and is it sealed or ported.. if ported what is the enclosure tuned to?

you have to match the impedance, 4 ohm sub to 4 ohm amp, 2 ohm sub to 2 ohm amp.  most amps put out more power the lower the impedance, so you can usually get more power for your buck with a lower the impedance

oh man, the pups would wreak too much havoc for any one person to handle. I even feel like the CIA would be all over this IP address if i was to even mention their full name. the only safe way to mantion their name is with dashes between the letters.  f-u-n-k-y p-u-p-s

It's a good thing the op is going from kickers to jl and not kickers to funky pups. They'd be a lot more to worry about then just ohm load.

If your not dead set on the JL, there are more brands out there to choose from. JL is overpriced imo, and for the money can more than likely get you something better, cheaper.
