removing trunk springs

I've thought about it a few times, the best alternative to propping it up is with shocks from snug tops or hoods. They are pretty spensive tho.. probably about $100 after tax and shipping

 
McMaster-Carr has a wide variety of gas shocks and all sorts of fittings. I've had them in my car for three years with no problem at all. You can pick the exact lifting power you need.
