zx750.1 at 1 ohm, opinions?

friends gettin a type r 15 dual 2 im gonna buy off him, we think the kicker should do alright at at least half gain or so, anyone have any experience running this amp at 1 ohm

I've read that you can run those amps at 1 ohm only if you have the electrical to back it up.

yeah i wouldnt run it at 1 ohm unless you have a great electrical source, such as proper front battery, big three, 0g run, maybe batt in back too IMO

Mine wouldn't run @ 1ohm, got a lil hot. My other one i never tried, but my freinds went @ 1ohm easily for over a year.

I couldn't get mine to run at 1ohm. It would go for a few minutes then just blow a fuse but then again I don't have a really beefy electrical.

I had one, only ran it at 2ohms though. Amp never warmed up, never gave me any problems at all. I personally would not recommend it. It seems to be a 50/50 with Kickers running below 2ohms, some do fine, some kick the bucket.

Id just save my money and buy something that would power the sub better.

Maybe he wont try it. He doesnt have a sub to run it any lower than 2 ohms right now.

The kicker will run, but it won't like it. And you don't really know how long it'll run for. Best if you just get another amp to run it.

so i got the type r 15 in today put it ina 4 cube box tuned to aboutg 30 i believe...hooked the 750.1 up for now cuz its all i got...i have the gain at alittle over only a quarter of the way up cuz it shut off at half gain, bass boost all the way down..i can get my volume up to about 20 with the max on the hu at 35 i think...surprising it gets pretty loud in my little car for not even getting most of the power of the amp..lifts my roof up alittle...its def louder then my one l7 12 was at over half gain

I have a friend who ran one at 1 ohm hard for over a year with no issues. It never even overheated.

good luck running it at 1 ohm. i wouldn't do it though.
