if i were to switch from a hifonics 1208d to a sundown saz-1500.. what kind of differences might i notice? other than more wattage.. will the bass be more clear like a higher quality bass? will it put less strain on my alternator since its more efficient?

the hifonics has worked perfectly fine for the past 5 months.. no problems at all.. im just curious.. might want to upgrade

yeah unless your running 14.4 Volt system your not getting everything out of that hifonics.
And your point? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif He could get more out of both the Sundown and Hifonics if he was running 18V. But the difference between 13.5V and 14.4V is minimal for daily driving.

If anything you might notice a little less strain on your electrical and a SLIGHT increase in loudness. 1 to 2 db gain max.

I wouldn't expect much of a noticeable audible difference. The main difference is in the quality and reliability of the amp.

If you are running a single IA LI I would be careful like the other guy said.

Sundown are good solid amps and everyone raves about the customer service. I'm not honestly sure their not another me too company for the build house. Keep in mind that I do have a sundown amp. I've heard alot of good things about Jacob though and he's very accessable online.

Huh?

well i got a mechman alt so electrical strain isnt a big deal i guess... im not sure how much more power i can handle with a mechman compared to a stock but im guessing its a pretty substantial amount.. ive been thinking about getting a nice set of comps and i wanna make sure my car will be able to handle another amp..

and ya the hifonics is rated 900 at 2 ohms.. not sure how much voltage i get constant with a mechman alt but id guess my amp is close to its rated 900.. the IA LI has handled it perfectly for the past 5 months since i got it.. but ya i know i wouldnt want to use the sundown at full power on it

I'm not talking about having enough power to support the amp, I mean giving the sub too much power and frying it.

Your talking about 2 ohms now, do you need power at 2 ohms? If so I would look elsewhere than the sundown

sony ftw?

ya i know im just saying that id like to be sure that my car will be able to handle 2 amps once i get new comps in.. and yes i need power at 2 ohms.. im guessing sundowns dont put out much at 2 ohms? i havent checked in a while..

what amps would u suggest for 2 ohm power
