Zero midbass....suggestions?

Its the ms8 killing your mid bass guaranteed which it is known to do. Run a calibration without the subs and I bet you your mid bass will be a lot stronger. Look up the kaigoss method and that will help you integrate your sub and mid bass a lot better. Also make sure your levels are level matched before calibration.

In my experience, the single most important thing for mdbass is to properly seal the "enclosure", whether it's in doors or kicks. And kicks are notoriously more difficult. Plus they're usually flimsy so they resonate too.

I did vibration damping, sealed my speaker baffles with non-hardening clay, sheet metal covering holes, and none of it helped as much as covering the doors with CCF and MLV. I recommend doing all of the above, especially for someone who has not created a barrier(which is what MLV does) for noise. A sound barrier also serves to separate the rear sound wave from the front wave, which helps midbass response.

Not sure exactly what features that hu has compared to the 995 but there should be a crossover section on it which will need to be set properly. Along with setting up your bands of eq.

The general rule is:

*subs too strong and midbass is weak -- turn up the sub level and re-run

*subs weak with boomy midbass -- turn down sub level and re-run

The reason is because: when the sub level is too low, it boosts the subs and cuts the midbass (and you end up with what you're likely describing), when the sub level is too high, it cuts the subs and boosts the midbass (and you end up with muddy midbass and weak sub output).

If you fix it properly, it SHOULD keep the rear-fill output levels high enough to keep you happy as well. Hope that helps.
