Greetings guys, I just got my feet wet into car audio this past year. (Ive been a home audio enthusiast for about 6 years). My current set up is a Kenwood x600f and x1200m Gouriki series amps powering a pair of focal access components up front and focal access 6x9's in the rear. Did the Big 3 upgrade with 0 gauge knukonceptz power cables, upgraded battery to an xs d5100r battery and amp leads are 0 gauge knukonceptz, 14awg knukonceptz speaker cables and Krystal kable RCA's. Using a POC harness in my 06 Acura TSX to use stock headunit (for a stealth look and keeping all functions). My sub is a TC sounds epic 12 in a less than satisfactory ported box. Still sounds great, but am looking to get a second epic and go sealed.
I'm toying with the idea of upgrading now. Ive always read great things about zapco, and id like to be able to do more tweaking, leading me to the DC series amps. I love the idea of plugging into my computer and using the DRC with the amps. The Gouriki series I really enjoy, they're very powerful and I like listening to music loud, but I'm more concerned about SQ. I found a set of DC amps: 2 x DC360.4's. 1 x DC500.1 and the DRC combined for $650.. Does this sound like a decent deal? All claims to be in very good condition
I really like the idea of going all active on my components as well, and would install a pair of Midbass 6.5's in the rear doors with this configuration having 2 DC360.4's. I'm a little concerned about cutting my power in half from my x600f (100 x 4) to the dc's 50 x 4. As I mentioned before I like loud listening levels, and I really don't wanna damage my speakers or the amps obviously. Same thing for the dc500.1 I would probably end up selling and try upgrading to the 1100.1 eventually for headroom, especially if I do get a second tc epic.
Any advice on any of this? Is it a no brainer to go for the zapco's and sell the Kenwood's? Let me know if I'm missing anything here. Thanks in advance
