its all imaginary
I know there was a thread on this a while back, but its long-dead. I just had a fiasco last night, so i thought i'd bring in a thread revival.
Well last night My buddy and i decided to start working on installing his sub in his Audi A4 and we couldn't find a good place to run the power wire through the firewall. I looked online and everybody said to find a plugged hole in the firewall and drill through any plastic behind it and run the wire through there. Well, we found a nice big spot behind the battery and we looked at it and couldn't foresee any problem drilling thru the plastic in that hole.
As soon as I got the drill going, i started to see what looked like steam or smoke coming out around the drill bit. I just figured that the plastic was burning a little bit from the drill, so i stopped and pulled the drill back out, and then A/C coolant started blowing up through the hole i drilled and down through the bottom of the dashboard and began to fog up the whole garage. It was not good
cliffs: drilled through and air conditioner line when trying to run power wire
