Your first system

my first system:

Deck: Alpine CDE-7859 (same as now)

Subs: 2 12" Kenwood Tornado's (yuck)

Amp: Kenwood KAC-X201t

I will be building on my 3rd system anytime now. I should be recieving the money for both my subs and amp anyday now. Thinking about going for a little less bass on this one.

what are you planning on running up front? and what subs are you gonna get?

not a clue yet.....worryin about makin sure my current one gets shipped out first...then ill start thinkin about it. At first i was considering barely anything audio...and just going performance...but it turns out my dad wants me to sell my car when i go to college next year...so it makes no sense to do any performance mods. Atleast with audio I can get decent resale values and will be transferable when i get my next car. Any ideas?

anyways...im lookin for a great SQ system, with a nice little bump (nothing outrageous like my last system though). i think i grew to become a SQ freak because of all the SPL i used to have. Im looking to spend about $600 tops. I may be able to push that a little more. But only a little. Also....one important limit is i don't want to be sending any more then like 700 watts. Since the main reason I sold my last system was because i blew my alternator with a JBL 1200.1. So im shooting to send about half the power. Im thinking maybe a small 10" sub and attach a JBL 300.1 on it or somethin. When i say $650 is my limit...I'm talking about for everything including distro. block some wiring and everything. The only thing i have right now is all the wiring to wire 1 amp and a circuit breaker. Oh yeah...I still have my deck too. My girlfriend is probably getting me 6x9's for christmas...so mainly lookin for some comps up front...amps and a sub.

Sounds good. I'm leaning more towards the sq side of thigs these days too and in the next week or so im gonna pick up a pair of e10k's and a jbl 1200.1 probably. also getting some mb quart reference or premium comps up front. i think thats gonna run me about $550 or so. have you heard the boston pro subs though? they sound pretty good, possibly the infinity perfect 10" or a shiva or something might do the trick for ya.

how do you think a e10k would run with 300 watts? no never heard the boston pros...but i have heard the perfects and they are alright. the shiva wants 600 watts right?

a k would probably do allright with 300 in the right box, however they are 400 rms and I have heard they are a little underrated, guess you would have to try it and see.

how much power are you sending to each?

whats their rms?

box size?

What would you consider them SQ/SPL?? (example: SQ 60/SPL 40)

My first system back in 1994 was:

Alpine CD head, can't remember which.

Alpine 3331 EQ/Xover

2 x Phoenix Gold M50 amps

Boston Acoustic Pro5.25 component set

2 x JL Audio 10W1's

All of this in a 1994 Dodge Dakota reg cab.
