I've got an `03 Sierra, so it's got the double din opening. I'd like to see pics of any of you guys that have taken this double din opening and put a single din HU in it. ...and, didn't simply put an average dash kit in it from Metra, Scosch or similar. I'm looking to see what creative ideas you guys have had to make it look good. So any pics you've got would be appreciated.

I've been considering something like this, but am curious what you guys have done.

No. That was `02 and back. `03+ is double. This I know.

notice how they all say modified fit on the double din units...its a din 1/2 opening.

hence the reason Metra doesnt make a double din kit for a silverado or any other GM truck

Honestly, I think it's slightly smaller than double din, but bigger than din and a half. It's kind of a non-standard size. Double din fits with slight mod. I've seen plenty of double din units in our trucks.

My original question still holds, though. Pics of creative single din HU installs that aren't just a plain dash kit that either leaves a hole or similar.

you can get creative. but a simple dash kit still works best and looks good.

Has anyone managed to find or build a setup that would create one of the flip down doors like you see on Navigators, Scions, etc?
