Whats up guys. I love your forum. I found my old password to my account from 5 years ago when you guys gave me the best advice ever. Lol @ my old threads.. used to talk like an idiot as a teenager.

Anyway, I have a question!

3-4 years ago, I was buying a sub + amp, you guys recommended a new-ish company (back then) called Mach 5.

I bought my Mach 5 sub along with a AudioQ 1200 amp. First things first. This sub was the best choice ever. Sub and amp still work Amazing 3-4 years later, with extreme heat in Texas. Pictures are here:

I'm about to buy a new (used) car, a 2008 Cadillac CTS.

I want a system in it. The current owner is willing to give me his system, which includes

Subs: Kicker - Solo-Baric L7 12" Dual-Voice-Coil 2-Ohm Subwoofers with Enclosure

So my question is this:

Whats smarter? Keeping his current system in there which sounds great and is already wired? Or, saving a couple hundred dollars and putting my sub and amp in his car? I don't drive two cars no need for two systems really. So I'm stuck between selling mine and keeping his or trying to put mine in there.

Any foreseeable issues or thoughts?? You guys are the pros

The L7 is decent if he's not going to charge you and more for it and you won't get a discount you might think about keeping his. Just compare the to items. I know alot of people like the solo's.

I think he would probably knock off $200 or so. Complete guess.

Forgot to mention, he said he let best buy install some $60 compaticator when they installed the system

That kicker 2500 is a nice amp. You could probably sell it for $350-400. You could sell the L7s for $200 on craigslist.

But your mach 5 and AQ setup is a good one.

Keep your current setup. L5's are sh*t. The amp is probably ok though.

knocking off 200 only? TAKE IT! or have him knock off the real value of the equipment(someone above already mentioned the price)

Also, its a capacitor, useless does nothing for your system, sell it too!

If the system is still bumping loud, no weird sounds, doesnt have bad smells, you can definitely turn a profit on craigslist. I would however, keep the amp though for a bigger setup whenever you feel like your up to it. Its quite a good amp.

Also car audio aside, make sure you have that car checked out by a trusted mechanic before you buy.

I agree with everyone else, buy his stuff for now, switch your sub in there and see if you like it better than his. Whichever you like better, keep it. The kicker amp is pretty good, I'd keep that unless you want the money. Either that or sell basically all of it and start over, try some new stuff. whichever lol

I would keep your current setup... However I would tell the guy that you will buy the car IF!! he throws in the system..... Couldnt hurt that way you get both.. That kicker 2500 is a stout amp but the l7 not so much...me thinks the kicker 2500 on the mach5 would be the best setup but its not worth 700$ for the marginal performance increase.
