Well, when i first got into audio i didnt have a car so i went to wally world and picked up the $20 12" lightning audio, black with lightning audio in gray, and hooked it up to my home theater system which i though kicked *** and i must say did get pretty loud in the house.
My first car setup was a 12" audiobahn( $99) in a 2cuft ported prefab box. I used an old Dual 2ch. amplifier pushing a massive 200rms, but that got me into this hobby and i think i will remeber that longer than most other things in my life.

one of those shitty pre loaded 10" poineer bandpass deals they had back in the day. was a rectangle with ports on one end and a little plexi window. i had that on a 300 watt profile amp back in '97, it sucked. i had cut up extension cords for power/ground and the remote looped to the +

12" MTX T8000 DVC in a sealed QLogic box

MTX 6001 amp wired for 600w RMS @2ohm

Next had a 12" L5 with 300w RMS, it didn't sound nearly as nice as my old T8000. I would trade almost any of the newer MTX subs for another 8000, I loved that thing and it sounded clean and got loud enough to enjoy.
