you first sub :)

i had 2 12" pioneers in a Best Buy bandpass box, crammed into the trunk of my 90 cavalier. i had to kick the sides to get it to fit. i thought i was da shit

My first sub was a blown 8" Jensen in a truck box. I replaced it with an 8" Pioneer sub from Best Buy in 1997. The sub was blue with gray foam surround. For what it was it could actually throw down.

heck at the wagon wheel in pine park they were at every audio booth in the place. shortly after when the shops saw the quality they were in the shops. this was when they very first came out. imo the life of mtx as gone from cheap stuff to top of the line and now back down to middle of the road
I guess in FL that could be the case, but their quality was always recognised from birth in the chicago area. Then again MTX got its start not too fr from chitown.

More memorable than my first subs was when the firt car with JL arrived at our school. The midwest had to be the last region to get and hear them. They were 4 12" w1s in an escort and it was freakin loud. He ran them off an autotek mean machine.
