I finally decided to put a nice headunit in my accord and even better speakers than the very old focals that I had.... this is it

HU Eclipse 8445

AMP JL E6450 Six Channel (450 watt)

Front Boston Pro 60 Comps with tweeters in doors.

Rear 5 1/2 Focal Speakers

Sub Diamond Audio D3 10"

Speakers on stock locations with deaden doors.

Well yep its sounds horrible!, I cant figure it out... Boston speakers and headunit were installed last week but and I didnt notice a significant difference of the change from stock HU to the Eclipse.

The whole system lacks presence the voice needs to be clearer and I get a lot of siblance too... pretty much the worst of both worlds... It just doesnt sound good...

Why is this any help?

hmmm, got me stumped, maybe your crossover points are bad, but i dont think the lack of power is the problem, also are you equilizer settings right?

doors are deadened and with the 80 watts I have to each speaker right now its plenty for me I wont even get near full volume.

thought they were getting 45 at 4 ohms?

i hear they need 150-200 to get sounding good... if thats not it, i have no clue

Crossover point is at 63hz -12db

well im guessing since u have a 6ch amp that the componets are amped..... could be a possible issue with the settings.....do u have an external xover? and if so what are the cut off freq's.....

Of course I am using the crossovers that came with the bostons too... This big *** crossovers right here!

Yep those are some sweetass componets. I would check the freq. on the crossovers. Did you hook these up or have someone else do it? I am in the same boat as I have the type x componets and the crossovers on them are a bitc h. Good luck and nice choice on componets.

When I ran rear speakers in my 2003 coupe it also sounded poor. The rear speakers were to close to my ears and it screwed up my imaging.

Try droping the rears and bridge the front 4 channels to the Boston Pros.
