I got a pan, I got a plan
Okay so today i installed a yellow top in the rear of my car. when i finished i checked everything over and made sure i had solid connections everywhere before i left my dads shop and went for a drive. Everything is working well and sub sounds much better so i was very happy so i went home.

Now about 2 hours later i finish dinner and decide i want to take some pictures to show you guys what i have done so i go back to the shop. I finish taking pictures and then notice that my yellow top is hissing at me. So i immediately unhook it, pull it out, and sit it in the shop away from my car. Now i let it sit for about 10 minutes before i go back to it and it is still hissing. WTF

the car is an 04 cavalier

my electrical goes in this order

red top up front w/2 1/0 grounds coming off of it.

next i have my stinger 1/0 power coming off of it and about 7 inches away i have my stinger anl fuse holder with 250 amp fuse in it

now i have about 12-14ft of stinger 1/0 coming off of it to another stinger anl fuse holder in the rear also holding a 250 amp fuse

off of that fuse holder i have about a foot of kicker 1/0 going to a knu battery terminal on top of the yellow top.

now i have a short run of kicker 1/0 going to my distro

also my yellow top has a very short ground consisting of kicker 1/0

here are pics

maybe its mad a have an us amps xt2000D in the car?

I had that same problem with my old yellow top, there was a hissing sound coming from it, turns out it was a bad battery, i had it installed in my trunk and it would constantly drain the front battery...

was it new?
it was kind of new. it had been sitting in an oreilys for 6 months and employees have the option to buy them before they get sent back to optima and my dads friend works there and asked if we wanted it so we bought it for $25. i checked it before i hooked it up and it was reading like a higher 11.
