about to order the batteries does this setup sound fine? 2 dc xl 12's, saz3500d @1ohm, 250amp alt, xs power d3100(trunk), xs d1200(hood), big 3, run of 0 gauge from positive and negative to the back? have stinger volt meter for the amp and have a stock voltage gauge for batteries.

Sounds like that would be just fine..to me

 
If I understand you correctly you are going to run the ground all the way back to the battery. If I may make a suggestion, the the engine block will be better

 
Sounds good to me, but you may still see some substantial voltage drop if you are running an OEM alternator.

Ground your amp directly to the battery in the rear, and run the ground from the rear battery all the way to the primary battery in front. Also improve your grounds to chassis.

Add a charge and ground cable directly from the alternator to the primary battery under the hood.

 
some confusion I will clear up..I have the big 3 done. using a mechman alternator. back battery will be grounded to the frame and the front battery.. amp grounded to back battery. basically already have it set up like mechman said. just added a few more grounds in the engine bay.

@civic I have the front battery grounded off at the block and a cable running to back.
