Deciding on a new battery

I dont have much experience with car batteries and just want some of your guys opinions on a good battery I can get for my truck. I am replacing the stock one that is just about dead. I have a pdx 100.4, sax 1200d, 2 sd-10s, and all new speakers so I need a battery that can handle a decent amount of power to keep my voltages up and constant without having to have two batteries. I have been looking at a yellow top but other then that I dont know any other good brands that may be better. Any opinions on other good batteries I should look at? thanks

I hear people dis em, but I have a yellowtop as a 2nd battery (underhood battery is barely worth mentioning, so the optima might as well be the only one, lol). I love it so far. No more dimming, and voltage barely dips at full tilt running at least 1200 rms. The one I'm using is one of the bigger ones, though. A 3478 dual terminal.

I will never use a yellow top again for car audio.
I wouldn't either, for the equipment you're running. Your sub amp alone is drawing a serious load. But, for his application, I imagine it would prolly be just fine.

I had more a lot more drop running more then half the power I am now on the same size(group 34) YTs as I do now.
Yeah, I'm probably running less than half of even that, lol. But I understand what you're saying. I was only saying what I said based on what he says he needs and his system size. Figure the yellowtop would work well.

We will be using batcaps in our new build I think.
They are great batts, you'll like them.

OP, as mentioned sears sells the platinums which are good batteries. They come with a 3 year warranty iirc and you don't get killed on shipping prices since you just go to your local sears. Another option would be to just find a used C&D 300-MR battery. They are a good battery to use for smaller systems.
