it may be ur amp dude, plus get rid of that 4 guage wire. Also the headunit might have a low voltage output and u may need to turn the gain up. Plus u dont even have a subwoofer gain on ur HU, i would say get an aftermarket HU. But ive heard some OEM HU's sound decent

I did it all myself. Local shop looked at it and said all was good/correct on the install and what not.

Stock headunit, but I dont think thats the problem. But what do I know

i think it's stock h/u for the main reason that you're probably getting a .01v output on the level outs. so unless you're matching that gain on the amp, you're clipping the shit out of the amp to the sub.

dude i had a similar problem that your having, what i did was take my subs out and hooked it up in my home stereo to see if the noise remained, i came to the conclusion that it was the amp due to the speakers not making the noise and not performing th way it should. Right now my amp is either getting repaired or they are going to send me a new one.

So if i was you hook ur sub up in another friends car with their amp to try to decifer where the problem is coming from, if u have a home stereo hook it up to that to see if the noise persist. Then go from there

Are you using an LOC? Make sure the outputs are to the MAX all of the time as this is important for S/N, gain structure.

well, something is wrong because my 15"xxx was extremely loud and sounded great. maybe something is mechanically wrong? try playing it free air and look at the spider, maybe there is a tear?
