Xover / EQ with High Level Inputs

Been Gone Too Long
In the coming weeks, I'm going to need to do some installing with a Mazda 6.

For anyone that has seen the stock HU on the 6, You'll know that I'm NOT replacing it.

I'm not gonna cut and glass a new console cover for just a HU, not too mention that we would lose functionality of a in dash LCD display (showing ambient temp, radio station / disc info), as well as inset steering wheel controls. To top it off, this car belongs to somone who cares very little about the SQ & control gains of a nice aftermarket HU.

Plan is to tap the rear door speaker leads and run them into an EQ/Xover preamp. I'd rather have a EQ/Xover combo that takes high level inputs, as I'm not a fan of LOC's.

[question]I only need a 2way xover and prolly an 11 band EQ. Maybe even an AudioControl piece w/linedriver... preferrably line-in[/question]

Please Discuss....

thanks Req... but that is not nearly the same dash panel that I'm working with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The '04 6 is a bear... I suggested we make something up for a aftermarket HU, but was shot down. Meh.

*edit*

It's a One Piece trim panel:

The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are the Audiocontrol pieces. Those PG pieces req listed don't have high level inputs that I am aware of.

Why don't you just use a LOC, then run RCA's into your processing?? I know you said you're not a fan......but it seems much easier than trying to find pieces that have high level inputs.

I fear (but accept) that this will be the most likely course. It'll open up alot more options for me as well.

I put up the thread to search the collective knowledge base: I don't know of ANY pieces of equipment that'll do what I need... Was hoping someone else might.

EQX does, line driver, xover (although its the stupid module), EQ, and high level inputs...

that's interesting... I could've used this for My trailblazer deck.

The mazda... eh sort of.

Though, nice link Brad... this is basically a corrective LOC.

That's hott.

Thanks tootse.

Any thoughts on using the JL Audio cleansweep?
