Xenon 1200.1 vs. Tantrum 1200.1

Xenon is class A/B. Tantrum is class T.

Which would you rather have for driving subs. If using Tantrum I would go 4 ohm. If Xenon it would be 1 ohm.

hmm i thought tantrum was a/b and xenon is D. can't you run the x1200.1 at 4 ohms too? anywho, i like the xenon better.

The Xenon is a class d and is more flexible for sub's(1200x1@1-4 ohms). The Tantrum is alot smaller and IMO looks alot bettter. It puts it power out at 4 ohms.

The tantrum would probably be cheaper.....I got mine off here for like 250 a while back.

You're right Xenon is class D. My bad. Well if all things were equal (pricewise) would you take a Xenon or Tantrum?

i like the xenon cause they are a bit more efficient; ~80 percent. however, the tantrum puts out a bit more power but at ~70 percent efficiency.

I'd take the Xenon for it's felxability and it is more effiecent like jacka said......but I'd be real tempted at the Tantrum because its so small and looks 10x better. The tatrum will give you 1400+, I'm not sure about the Xenon but it would definatley be more than 1200.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am liking the Xenon for the flexibility and the 24 db crossovers vs. 18 dB for the Tantrum.

i'd go with the tantrum. just for old school points (if you can call it that) and does 1400+@2-4ohms.

tantrum. the xenon is really not more flexible. generally if you can wire your subs at 1 ohm, you can wire them at 4 ohms. also there was a bad batch of xenon's, plus they generally benched at 1200 watts at 4 ohms vs. 1400+ watts at 4 ohms like the tantrum.
