For 1K off of newegg.com you can build yourself a very very very nice pc. No it would not lag if your playing lets say just WOW but mabye if your playing WOW and using photoshop and a couple other programs at the same time. If you experience your computer getting "slower" there are always clean up tools that fix that. I agree that both have their ups and downs but also pc's if for one guy while consoles can bring a very boring 4 person get together into a massive orgy of obsessive game playing ultima for hours on end.

thats exactlly what I said. Except I wouldnt say computers HAVE to deal with so much more... they are CAPABLE of so much more. The basic components are the same, not to mention heavy gaming is usually the thing using most of a PC's hardware to its fullest, except perhaps running resource intensive programs like video editting or mulitiple applications at once. I dont quite know what "bullshit" you are reffering to.

i dont see how the graphics card in the 360 is far beyond the new age Video cards, IE the 7800 GT, look at morrowing oblivion, dayum, even elderscrolls which was what 3 years ago, on my 6600 GT looks better than the 360, i dont beleive that crap

give the 360 a break, you're not going to be seeing its full potential for a little while. Give the game makers some time to adjust. Just look at the ps2, anyone remember the launch titles for that? they weren't even half as beautiful as GT4.

So I decided to take a trip out to the store today jusy because I was bored. I walked around for a bit when this kid playing a game caught my eye. I could believe how good the graphics were to the game he was playing so I had to see what system it was that he was playing on. It turned out that it was the xbox 360. Holy crap that thing was awesome the graphic are pretty much dvd quality. Me being a tard with the xbox controller it was a bit harder because all the controls were "regular" which means that the controls were completely backwards ps2. The game I was playing was battlefield something or another, a pretty good game from the demo that I played. The price tag they had on it was 400 which isn't bad because I've seen it for 700+ on ebay. So if you are interested in it you should go to your local target, it should have one. Me personally I think I'm going to have to wait and get ps3, but don't get me wrong the new xbox is yummy

There are quite a few places that don't take reservations that you can show up and hope you'll get one. And microsoft says that they will be deliberately selling out right away on the first day, but will have a steady stream after.

yep, but i still like the gameplay with computer soooo much better, mouse and keyboard, also i hate how ever new console games go up too, ps1- 39.99, ps2 - 49.99, xbox360/ps3 already 59.99, im sure computer games will follow too

Uhh, xbox 360 games will be 50 bucks, unless you buy the limited editions of some of them. And no one even knows about ps3 yet.

x2, i can bet that the poly count for quake 4 on xbox360 will be toned down from what it is on the computer also.

Am I the only one not impressed with the Xbox 360? I looked at it, saw the graphics, and quite frankly, to me it was just, "meh". Yeah, it is better than the Xbox in every way, but that's not enough. For starters, it's NOT reverse compatable, so you won't get to play your old Xbox games on it, and secondly, there's nothing truely great or exciting. Their lineup is all shooters and racing games. Frankly, both have more or less perfected for years.

Yeah, Halo 3 will be nice, but will it offer anything I haven't see in the original? Halo 2 didn't. In fact, Halo didn't offer anything Half Life didn't have. Half Life didn't offer anything Quake 2 didn't have. In fact, since the release of the original Quake, I haven't seen anything truly remarkable, just smoke and mirrors. Castle Wolfenstein, the first commercial FPS ever created, is truly a better game than some of the new shooters I've seen and played. No high res graphics, trendy physics, or "gravity gun" can take away the fact that an FPS is just mediocre.

In the same way, since the release of Stunt Race FX for Super Nintendo, the only things changed in 3d racing games are the cars, physics, graphics, and crash handling. Yeah, you can make a great game out of it, but it won't be anything revolutionary.

how can you be serious? For the times CW was cool, but just simply in gameplay... it was horrible. Using a keyboard to aim is the worst ever... Obviously more complex doesnt always make a game better, but the only thing redeamable about CW is its place as the first big FPS.

First off, it WILL be backwards compatible, that they promised for release (you just need the HD i believe). Dunno what you're talking about but the graphics are pretty **** good. And there are going to be some good games out for it too, like: Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo: Elements of Power, Madden 06 (which has extremely good graphics, take a look at some screens of it), Halo isnt the only thing that can be played on xbox...lol. And just because something isn't revolutionary, doesn't mean that it can't be a fun and entertaining game.

yep, thats the only time I use consoles, sports games with friends. Other than that its limited FPS on the comp when I wanna shoot shit, I dont game often at all though.

For some reason I can't play them without getting some serious motion sickness. I've played alot of different FPS in my days and thought that maybe as technology got better and graphics got better I wouldn't get sick anymore but alas I still can't take it. Funny thing is, I can play racing games with NO problem which happen to bounce around just as much if not more than a FPS. So for me I've been limited to 3rd person games such as the Resident Evil franchise and God Of War which is a bad *** game by the way.

reading this page, quite frankly if you guys are into "graphics" thats your deal i am into fun factor, challenge, non-linear story lines, and gameplay. All else, graphics are the least of my worries/care. Hell i though Rez was very fun and it was justa game with a bunch of lines.
