So I decided to take a trip out to the store today jusy because I was bored. I walked around for a bit when this kid playing a game caught my eye. I could believe how good the graphics were to the game he was playing so I had to see what system it was that he was playing on. It turned out that it was the xbox 360. Holy crap that thing was awesome the graphic are pretty much dvd quality. Me being a tard with the xbox controller it was a bit harder because all the controls were "regular" which means that the controls were completely backwards ps2. The game I was playing was battlefield something or another, a pretty good game from the demo that I played. The price tag they had on it was 400 which isn't bad because I've seen it for 700+ on ebay. So if you are interested in it you should go to your local target, it should have one. Me personally I think I'm going to have to wait and get ps3, but don't get me wrong the new xbox is yummy

I'm pretty sure every target/best buy etc... is sold out for the first few shipments... hence why they go for $700 on ebay. Good PCs have had those caliber graphics for awhile now aswell, to build one from scratch would be alot more money than $400 though. Consoles go obsolete too quick IMO, I would never buy one.

Consoles are made to last ~5 years. How is that too fast? If you want to play PC games, you are forced to upgrade a lot more than that to keep up. I'd rather buy a new console once every 5 years, then upgrade my computer every 1-2 years when my computer does everything else I need it to.

you must have forgotten about computer gaming, figure when the PS2 came out in what 2000, 5 years ago, figure if you bought a computer 5 years ago, and didnt upgrade it, you wouldnt be able to play games like, battlefield 2, half life 2, Morrowind probably.......

i highly doubt console games will ever be on par with regular computer games as far as graphics are concerned //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

na not 1-2 years really, maybe 2-3, but you dont have to wait as long for upgrades, some people like to upgrade like me, waiting 5 years for a new cosole to come out, rather than say 2 years for a huge advancement in a video card and cheaper ram prices and better games... computer gaming will always be ahead of console....

exactly, and even with gameplay if you think about it, look with the controllers on n 64 and ps1, the joystick idea came from the computer, which origonally came from what atari, but it was HIGHLY used in gaming with computer.....

Nope, but with PCs you can upgrade pieces at a time instead of your whole computer. I could buy a new $150 video card 3 years down the road with no other upgrades and be able to play all the new games again, that is aslong as the current cpu speed technological trends stay linear. Alot cheaper in the long run than spending $400 SOLELY for gaming every few years.

yep thats what i love about computers, i hate spending everything at once, thats how i buy my systems, one sub, then another, then the amp......

also, you get the best graphics with an HDTV, i wonder what it is like withouth the HDTV.... prolly not near as good

places like best buy, target, walmart CANNOT reserve stuff. THEY WILL have xbox 360's and ps3's- when they come out. Like i said, only places that CAN reserve consoles would be the shops around you that specialize in gaming. fyi

I too agree with computers always being ahead on the games but the thing that I hate about gaming on my computer is the problems it causes. Slows it down, you can't really do anything else while playing a game and it can also lead to your computer crashing. Even the fastest computers sometimes have a problem with new games, because of play time verse load speed. But both have their advantages and disadvantages
