I got mine, but unfortunately I'm a little busy with Denim's door panels to play with it just yet. My neighbor saw me bring it home, and has tried to buy it for his son several times. If you bought one, you should just sell it right away, no you wont get 18 000, but almost every half hour theres one that ends for $1000.. thats a good profit.

As far as PC vs. Console.. If you have a bunch of buddies hanging around than your PC is useless, I love firing up NHL 2006 and just relaxing on the coach. But PC will always be better for the FPS style games.

I pre-ordered 4, and got 2 of them yesterday. Probably get a 3rd today, but the 4th won't arrive until "some time in 2006" even though I pre-ordered that one over 2 months ago. (and I'm not really much of a "gamer"). I'll eBay 2 of them to make up the costs on the 2 I want to keep.

One of my buddies waited at Hastings, opening night, from 10:00 PM to when they opened at midnight. He got one, but said the line by the time they opened was around 30 people. Hastings only received 5 units for friggin' release night! He said there were hard core gang bangers trying to bribe and threaten the first few people in line to let them have their spot, then when my buddy was walking across the parking lot with his, he said he honestly feared for his life... and this isn't in a bad part of town, and he's in his 30's, not some li'l kid. Same thing was true when he got to Target after that. 50+ people in line at 2:00 am for a 9:00 opening, and only around 12 units. Even if places were getting more units, I couldn't see most people putting themselves in that situation, even if they really wanted one.

Yesterday, the average Premium edition on eBay sold for around $1500 (if in-hand and ready to ship next-day). Today, it appears most are selling for right at $1000. But, yesterday, there were 9000 auctions, and today there are at least 22000. We'll see how it goes as Christmas approaches and people with more money than brains realize they can't send their secretary to Wal-Mart to get one...

yea, i just got a job at the hastings here. we got three and had atleast 15 preorders. for the people that got screwed... we gave them a 5 dollar gift card. i would be so pissed words cannot explain

They aren't selling for $18k, or even $10k, or even $5k. Those rumors are false. Any of those auctions you see up there are either being bid up by the sellers' "other" accounts, or friends, or whatever, probably because they didn't like the way their auction was going, or just for fun. However, they were selling for $1500 yesterday, and $1000 today, and probably back to around $1500 near Christmas. Still a lot, but not to a kid of rich parents, and there are plenty of those.

If you think about it, though, you couldn't buy a PC with that kind of video and processing horsepower for under a couple grand. I don't know for a fact, but Microsoft may be taking a loss (at $300 and $400) on this Xbox 360, just like they did on the original one, for the first couple years.
