I dont doubt you or mean to bash you at all but the pics of your H/U differ... the first pic you only have one button under the deck (trac off) and two block off plates the second pic has all three buttons.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with McIntosh & MB Quart, dude. His old school Autotek amps are very nice as well...

x2. McIntosh is a very high-end brand... MB Quart made quality stuff as well. Just because it isn't Fi, RE, DD, or AQ doesn't mean it isn't good.. lol.

No doubt about it. Hell, MB Quart is still putting out some very nice, budget friendly equipment in my opinion. In particular, the Discus series amplifiers deserve their current forum boner reputation. Clean/reliable power at a great price is never a bad thing...

I've noticed this OP seems to get a boner for saying he likes "old school" stuff.

He really just likes the sound of the words Old school and thinks he knows what its about.

BTW those "Space ship Kickers" have function. Two words: "CONE RIGIDITY."

On the square lines, without it the design would not work due to cone flex.

on the Pioneer flat subs, the surrounds are designed that way to minimize the height of the surround while maximizing excursion.

I agree, from what I've heard these new MB Quart amps have been working wonders for a ton of people at a great price. That's because you just got here in August or you'd know I replaced a 2001 IS300 with a 2002 IS300.
