This new subs sounds less capable than your xxx. But then, it is very vague.
Your price/performance ratio sounds about right to me parkeave.

Second, just because it's rated at 1,000w doesn't mean it is wimpy (if that's what you're thinking). To reach a Qtc of .707, it all depends on the enclosure size. The larger size enclosure you have (sealed) the less power the driver will need.

Obviously yes in spl. Im not going to judge your speaker's SQ ability based on what you've told us about it. Very little.
XXX is no slouch in SQ either. Beat it in that regard, and you're doing well.

Technically yes. But, you can get a rough idea. Less power handling and less excursion... thats not a recipe for more spl generally.

I have no idea what the design is. We have way too little info to really know anything at all.

I agree, we know a 3" coil and 1000 watts rms power, thats about it. Sounds like it would be good considering who is designing it, but I'm waiting for the new Mag anyway.
