Would you buy a $50k car with salvage title?

With the fact that its an M3 I would say go for it, they hold there value well, and have some decent balls to them if you know what your doing. Have fun buying the parts though, I think your underestimating the price of M parts but other than that it looks like an easy fix

Whao. You said it was stripped, but feck man, that's stripped nekkid! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

How much did you say you could get that one back together for?

~7.5k

I have a friend in the salvage business that will get me a good price on OEM replacement parts from his yards.

Found a good/great deal on two cars. Both are $50k+ valued cars. One is salvage titled due to a wreck. Other is on sale due to going though a strip shop.
Now my question. Would you spend ~$20k on these two cars to put them back to their original state in attempt to make money?

Example...

Car A is $5000 and needs $9500 worth of work. Car value with salvage title after rebuild is $22.5k Would you buy this and invest?

Car B is $6500 and needs ~$7500 worth of parts. Value after rebuild is $28k. (Clean title) Would you buy this and make the investment?

Discuss...
car B. A LOT of people won't buy a salvage titled car.

You sir make a good voice of reason. The more I look at the car the more Im leaning away from it.
Seriously. I'd put money on there being some very expensive equipment missing from that ride that you can't even see from the pictures.

As for the wreaked one, I'd also wager that, that one has some sever body damage to the point where you'll never get it fully straight ever again. It will burn through tires on the monthly. I believe this because if it was in better shape, you probably wouldn't be able to get your hands on it for such a steal even with hook ups. Hook ups like to keep the real deals for themselves. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Honestly, as a buyer, I'd never even consider purchasing a salvage title from a private individual. It'd need to be sold by a dealership with proof of repair from a reputable repair facility before I'd even consider.

Another thing to think about is that many lenders will not finance salvage titled vehicles. So finding a buyer with the means to purchase the vehicle may be difficult as well.

Not sure what you're planned means of selling the vehicle were....but you might want to check with you local vehicle auctions & see what their experience with selling salvaged vehicles is.

i wouldnt **** with a salvage titled car. If the other has a clean title, and nothing pulls up as far as thefts or whatever. When ur done putting it back together sell that ***** as new.
