Would you buy a $50k car with salvage title?

i'd pick up the stripped one. screw the wrecked one.
*edit* if possible.
i was about to say the same thing. take the stripped car. for one it has a shit less amount of miles on it. the average person drives 15-20k miles a year, and for an 05 that make it look liek the cars a weekend car. the engine on it may be in pretty **** good condition too. it would have a better oppurtunity to sell as you can give a description of what happened. it was stripped. nothing else was done. engine and frame is all good and that's what matters. depending on how it's fixed it may be fixed with all brand new parts. the car will basically seem like new.

The money goes back to Germany. You obviously forget all the engineers and salary employees in the US.

Does it really matter where the money goes, if you really want to get into it like that do your research... the number one European smelters (which provide all the aluminum for the vehicles) is an American/Australian based company by the name of Rio Tinto/Alcan. That means most all the cars produced in Europe are produced with metal from there lands but the profits go to us. In addition, the paint used on all the cars over there (tend to be Dupont) is in conjunction with Dow industries and all of that money again comes back to the US. Im sick of hearing people complain about our money going over seas when they dont really know where are money is going.

Yea it does because I work at the GM Tech Center. When you buy a GM it starts at the top and trickles down through the company. That money at the top is in the US.
