Would this wire set up be ok?

I ran 4 gauge in my civic because I didn't think I would run a large system in my car... Well now I want more. I don't really want to take out the 4 gauge and now I want to run about 2k watts for the sub stage and 400 for front stage. I was thinking of adding a battery in the trunk and charging it with the 4 gauge, then running 0 gauge from the trunk battery. I might go with a bigger alternator to(maybe 200 amp at the most). Would this be ok or do I HAVE TO replace the 4 gauge?

What amp did you decide do go with? More then likely a larger alt would be needed(hondas ****)...As for the wire, just add some larger wire and you will be fine.

I'm thinking a aq2200, not sure how efficient they are. The bad thing about doing another run is I would have to rip up a bunch of glued down carpet.

It is a good amp, and with a some larger wire and back up battery you would be ok for a while..but you would need to upgrade the alt though

The stock alt is 136 amp, how big should I go? Can I get a stock one rewound?

You have to ad larger wire no matter what. The power comes from the alternator up front ,equipment I'm assuming is in back. Were talking about pulling 170+ amps down a 4 gauge wire. I don't recommend running only the four gauge as you risk the wire overheating, and potentially catching on fire.
