how to make SAFE enclosure for batteries

Hi guys, I am limited on space in my jeep wrangler and it looks like Ill have to put the batteries near my passenger seats... in the rear on the floor or something.......anyways.....my dad doesn't like the idea. He says its dangerous because the batteries can blow or or leak or catch fire.....

I asked what if I can put them in a safe enclosure... he said sure if they were safe. So I wan't your guyses opinion. i was thinking make them an enclosure out of MDF...but what can I line the enclosure with? It needs to prevent the battery acid or w.e. from getting out into the car and my passengers...

I am gonna have DEKA 9a31's

i think you'd be fine with just mdf... but maybe get some deadner or something and line the battery box with it?

Those batteries are sealed batteries, its not the same as a standard lead acid battery. They vent but dont have all the nastiness of lead-acid batteries.

Those batteries are sealed you could construct the box out of cardboard and you still wouldn't have any problems with acid getting out...

Sealed batteries are way different than what your dad's thinking

AGM batts are sealed and non-spillable, plenty of people run them inside their vehicles. Just make sure they're secure so they don't go flying in case of an accident.

They're batteries brah...they aren't going to weight less if you buy them anywhere else so the shipping is going to be high anywhere.

Not becoming projectiles in an accident is your concern. Drag cars have steel battery containers. I would weld one if it was me.
