Would this type of closed cell foam work for deadening?

Hey,

i was just looking on ebay and found this:

It's a neoprene closed cell foam. Quarter inch thick. Do you think this would work for sound deadening? I mean, the eDead v4 teklite is neoprene.

I mean, if it will work just as good as the other stuff, I'll buy it.

This is one guy on ebay (not going to link it. I want it for myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif ) is selling 110 sq. ft of this stuff for 25 bucks or so. Thats 25 cents a square foot, and that IS CHEAP!

It is rated at 200 degrees max continual temperature, so temp isn't an issue. Only wondering if it will do the same stuff as the brand name gear.
