Would this be too much power for my speakers?

So I bought a new amp for my sub, and I had a Kenwood KAC-7203... which puts out 170Wx2 @ 4 ohms.... Instead of selling it which I was originally going to do, I figured I might keep it and use it for my front speakers... The problem is I have JL VR650-CSi's up front and their only 60 watts RMS....

Would that be too much power for my speakers? Or should I just get a 4 channel amp?

having headroom is a good thing....just because the amp can put out 170 doesn't mean it has to:fyi:

so your saying just as long as i keep the volume at a decent level where it won't distort, I won't blow the speakers?

set the gains correctly to what power you want to put out and you won't cause any harm

yes it does....remove the shiny cover and all the controls are revealed

Yeah I found it, ugh... all this time I couldn't figure out what that knob was until i just realized it lmao.
