Ya'know... I was about to bag on that install, until I remembered the first install I did on my car at 16 in a Datsun 4-door. I had two home audio speakers connected with 24g wire to a Philco cassette deck. *shudder*

But, I listened, I learned, I refined, and now I can even battle with custom fiberglass builds I make and usually win.

car just came in about 10 min ago. dude had a unfused run of 8ga power wire to his amp, the ground was 16ga, ran back from the batt negative!!!! and he wonders why he smelt smoke!!
