Wait...what? You're crossing over your tweeters at 4000 and are letting your woofers play fullrange? With all due respect, do you know what you're doing? I'm not trying to be rude, but that makes no logical sense. If you wanted to get loud, just get some goldwood 12s and mids and throw in a horn tweeter. Slap 'em in a huge box and go, not something I'd do with decent speakers.
the speakers impedance rise will filter them.... they apparently only have a frequency response upto 3000Hz, so, without another speaker in the system, they aren't going to play flat anyway...

No...the impedance rise won't filter anything. They will still attempt to play what they are given, which will cause them to blend inefficiently. I am not an expert on speaker or crossover design, nor do I claim to be. However, I do know that a loudspeaker should be a system, not various components together in a box. You can get away with doing that on some smaller designs, but with 8 mids and two tweeters and a HUGE gap between the tweet and the woofer, I wouldn't expect much.
