tell me why you like bass box pro 6

if you can figure out how to use the math. Then you can input the equations on an excel sheet and just input the required fields. pretty much you'll have just created your own enclosure building software. there are allot of free alternatives out there, other then paying big bucks for an application, that you're not going to get your money back from, unless you're looking to build and design enclosures, to make that money back. even if you do its still, not worth the money spent on that application. winISD is one of those free alternatives and if you compare the math used to design enclosures, against the math used by winISD, and most other applications, you'll notice that they are basically identical.

if you don't have the dedication to figure all the math out for your self and rather use an application to figure it out for you, then you should just stick to building the enclosures, and let some one else figure the enclosure designs for you. if you cant go trough the hassle of doing the math, then why would some one spend their money and hire you for a design, if you can take the time to properly prepare your self to do the job right.

http://www.diysubwoofers.org/prt/ported1.htm " Ported.xls" this is one of my favorite applications.

BB6P is a lot better than WinISD ... and, if you know what you're doing, it's much more time-efficient than making an excel spreadsheet ...
That being said, no matter which method you use, you still have to know what you're doing to make effective use of it ... and if you don't know the formulae used to calculate driver response in a particular enclosure, you should probably learn more before you start designing enclosures for other people ...
I found winisd about 10 times easier than bass box...

I mean, for a simple, basic, ported or sealed enclosure, you cant go wrong with winisd...

Yup, and it is MORE accurate than BBP. At least Pro Alpha is.

so then i should just download winISD?

I know enough to not be an amature.

Any other advice?

I am doing this for myself and a few friends. Not a business or "high points competition".

thanks

Ben

yeah winISD will work great. it has some of a learning curve, if you have never used it, but if you understand what you're doing, you should get along with it just fine. it does have a help menu with lots of use full information.
