working on food app. need your help, please guys!

thats an awesome name bro. get it up and running and i will download for sure.
thank you so much BoomTaco! ill keep you guys posted. where are you located at man?

Me and my friends say all the time we wish there was an app to order food from where ever we want. There is in bigger city's like New York but not where I live.
lol I know right!! they only have those apps and services in bigger cities. they don't have it where I live either. that's why I'm at least trying to solve the problem of choosing what to eat when we go out to restaurants.

Id mainly like to hold in my hands a CLEAN MENU!!!.If i get a nasty/greasy water spotted Menu placed in front of me at seating,..I leave and do not come back..ever at that location..I dont even ask for a clean one. If the Menu is dirty, and this is the second most likely presentation of the facility(entrance cleanliness and or hostess representative). To me, states no respect for the consumer, let alone for the facility.
Good points! I have been to restaurants that have some greasy and dirty looking menus. that can only speak about how the restaurant holds itself. One more question

If you had an app where you could search for a picture of every item on the menu along with details & nutritional info, how likely is it that you'd actually use it to help you order?

would be weekly because thats how often i eat out and I tend to try new eateries every week.
that's awesome! well I'm trying to figure out if this is something people would actually pull out and use on their phone when they are going to order.

-Drink Pairing suggestion (helps sell more drinks and helps the customer decide)

-Separate Dessert menu (If on an app you could do a push notification at a time interval... like 45min to an hour after they last viewed the menu)

-Specials/discounts. An option to 'get specials' pushed to your phone from restaurants you pick

-Interactive menu. Again if in the app you could have a short clip from the chef describing the dish and showing the portion size (re-iterating the drink pairing as well to boost sales)

-Incentive to use the app. Check in at a certain location so many times and you get a free appetizer or dessert, something like that.

The hardest part for me to decide is boredom with the menu. I like variety and if I eat at a restaurant frequently I've tried most of it, leaving me wanting something new. A new item notification at your favorite places would be cool to possibly choose a different place beforehand.

im located in the desert. phx az.
Lol nice! I have a few friends there. My friend from Phoenix is actually coming down to visit tomorrow. I'm in Salinas near SF.

Thanks for the reply db. Hmm so you like to try new things rather than the same old things. Notifications would be awesome! I know I wanted to go get endless shrimp at red lobster the other day but I wasn't sure if it was still going on. If I had a notification of that or any other specials going on, I might want to see them too. Great idea db!

So if you had an image of every item on the menu, do you think that might help you decide on what to order or maybe he'll you try something new and do you think you'd actually pull up the app on your phone?

I like your ideas Cfox.

I like the interactive food menu. I'm thinking maybe really nice photographs that you can zoom into and have a full 360 view- what do you think?

I like the specials notification too. And the chef description sounds really good- what exactly are you thinking for this? I guess this could be cool for like specials or season items?

What's a food app? And why?
Lol you're smart. Technically there is no such thing as a "food app". I'm workin on an app that relates to the food industry at a consumer level. It helps restaurant goers decide what to order by allowing them to search and see an image of every item on the menu before they order. It also shows detailed info about the item like nutritional and allergy info.

Why? Because I believe its a problem when I go out to eat and I have no clue what the food that READS good on the menu actually looks like. Then I get it and I don't like it.
