Working at a bar......

Most of the time the individual goes after the bar, not the bouncer if they want to file charges. However make sure you have in writing that the bar will pay your legal fees just incase you are charged with something as an idividual.
If it is more than just escorting a patron out and any physical altercation happens the cops should be called to cover your ***, but usually just the mention of cops sends the idiots running. I have never been charged personally, but the bar I work for has numerous assault charges against them and I was called as a defendant/witness a few times. The bar wins everytime, it is hard to defend your actions when you were drunk at the time.

I have never seriously hurt anyone on the job, but I did break a guys nose when he "accidently" slammed into the door frame while I was escorting him out the door. I am not a big fan of tough guys who harrass or beat women and he was really disrespectful to a few of our women bartenders. It takes a lot to get them pissed and they take a lot of abuse for the cash they get, but even they asked us to throw him out.

Recently a kid was celebrating his 21st and got a bit too drunk so we kicked him out. He came back and kicked the door, spiderwebbing the glass and ran. I chased him down and tackled him, we called the cops and he was arrested for drunk/disorderly. He ended up paying more than $2000 after fines and the cost to fix the door. Nice way to remember your very expensive 21st:)

ours is pretty boring, only a few fights a week and i am never usually working:(

it is a sports bar and we have indoor volleyball courts. some of those women are really good looking so it passes the time to watch them bounce around in the sand:)

otherwise i bounce packer games at a bar by the stadium and that can get pretty rowdy sometimes, especially when the bears or vikings are in town

It varies by the state. I believe in nebraska you can bartend at 19. In kansas you can serve, but not open or handle. There are no federal drinking laws, they vary state by state.

right on. im actually going back to "daytonas hottest night club"..i applied there about 3 weeks ago..talked with the owner, they were closing in a week after the day i was there to remodel the entire place for 2 weeks, and reopen. said he was gunna have a bunch of openings. so i gotta go back and check it out. if i get it..ill be set.

i wanna work at a club because i love mixin drinks and throwin them out. i dont like downtime. downtime = no customers = no money = lloonngg night. id rather have a slammed bar with a bunch of drunk people who cant tell the difference between $1s $10s and $100s. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

My friend who works there just told me he makes up to $35 an hour...I don't know how that is figured up..And he hasn't been working there for long at all...

It seems exciting, but I really have about talked myself out of it.

I didnt mean you'd be in any serious trouble from a and b charges.. just that some moron would get the ball started, and yous have to deal with the inconvenience of it
