Update:

DC Audio is going to take the broken woofer back and repair it.

I'm currently waiting on a RA number.

Dayum. Usually that's something that happens when you ship a sub UPS.

I would agree that it was probably cracked before it was powder coated and just opened up from normal use.... that or you dropped it and are trying to get a free sub....not accusing or anything, but that's the only other way this would happen.

Yes, M2 lvl4 with lvl5 softparts.

Yes, the enclosure has a double baffle and is solid as a rock.

I did check the subs once I got them home and I could not see any damage....also the packages did not indicate rough handling....

Anyways, if the basket had some casting cracks, thay were covered with paint and not visible anymore.

I handled the woofers with extra care, I did not drop them. Once the woofer arrives at the DC warehouse they can inspect the woofer for damage which would indicate that it has been dropped...but they wont find anything because it was not dropped.

Indeed, I'd expect the kind of drop that would do that would show other signs of the hit.

What material was that woofer made of? I've never seen a basket cracked up like that. Couldn't be metal, more like faux cast metal, the type

hotwheels cars are made of. Someone is trying to save money somewhere and it shows.
