15xxx and a power acoustik a2400db amp

wow is this thing real loud.. it hits harder then my 2 jl audio w3s. i got a few questions though. i have a acousik a2400db amp and it came with a bass control knob.. wut im not quite sure is should i use it... i think its the bass boost control. should i jus keep it away cuz i hear bass boost kills subs. wut i orriginaly thought was that it controled the input sensitivity. im also unsure of where to set the subsonic control. my box is ported to 30 hz so that means i should???.. but the main answer i want is should i keep the bass knob or put it away... or should i just mount it and keep it on minimum.

another story to tell ya is that i went to stereo warehouse were i live and i was challenged by a guy wit a thunder 12" 9500 in a sledgehammer box.. i think he just bought it like a week ago to. but first off i pulled into the parking lot and i saw that he was bumping. i pulled up next to him and asked him wut he got in there. he quickly said i got the best subwoofer out. I think he said that because im only 17 and he thinks i dont kno anything. Well i said alright, i dont think there is a best sub out. so he showed me his box and how its one of the nicest boxes out. he kept going all out saying how his sub is better than the w7 and sounds the nicest and such. i then showed him my trunk.. i have a ported box set to 30 hz about 4 cubic ft after displacement, there also wasnt any carpeting and u could see all the sealent and fat mat under the amp... He quickly said thats hella ghetto and that box was homade huh.. making it sound like i was hella poor and should of bought a prefab box for better sound.

I was then like alright let me hop in and hear u bump it..and after we got in so he did. he bumped away. i was like thats tight, thats tight. and he just smiled at me like i was already owned. The song we played was ambitions as a ridah and 3-6 mafia late night tip. ( he had a profile 1200 watt amp)

but then we sat into my vehicle.. i played the same songs but i knew my amps gain were on real low because i just installed my amp. we played it and he was bumping his head and was like thats tight, but it still dont compare to my shizznit. then i was like o yea i forgot... He was like forgot what>? I said hol up... i put song on pause and set the gains up, went back into the vechicle and was like tell me wut u think now.. i unpaused it and turned the volume up... as i did that i looked into his eyes and could see that he was owned. his jaws were dropped and i said pretty nice huh... I then walked into the Audio shop and purchased a grill and went back to my car finding 3 more people at my car trying to here my set up. ThRES MY STORy..

nice, nice...aint it great to own other pples systems???

especially since they think thiers is so crazy loud, and you act all humble and stuff, its a great feelin, of course your ego goes through the roof!!!!

but i have never had that feelin, how do u encounter these people anyways??

in seattle.. people bump non stop... this guy was bumping for a long time in the parking lot tunign his system or something.. theres always people in the parking lot doing stuff wit there systems. and stuff. its a nice little community... plus i kno most of them... i wont get jacked.. i dont bump loud anywehre else tho.. well wen im driving on the freeway and occasional bumps at home... but i like how it sounds at low volumes... dosnt hurt my ears and sounds clean as fukkkk

nice story... i got a bunch of people like that at my school... im only 16 and pretty new to the scene to but they all roll around with MTX and RFs... which yeah they are nice, but i don't think they are the best thing out...

when I ask them all about Adire Audio, or RE Audio, they haven't heard of them... No shops around here have heard of them neither... which at first made me steer away from "underground" subs...

Hella sweet, I love showing ppl up too...

as for your question, I just ditched the bass knob since I have a sub control on my HU. When you turn up the knob, it only increases the chances of distortion.
