wont play the real lows

i think its my amp tho,im gonna mess around with it tomorrow morning,i had an amp pushing 370 wrms to my sub b4 my new amp came in and it didnt play as nearly as loud as my new amp gets but it could still at least make an attempt to play the lows,my sub doesnt even seem like its trying to play the real low bass

my guess would be on the ssf, and then the box if turning the ssf down does not help. try to turn the ssf to around 25-30 hz, and if that dont help, you need a new box. 1.83cf for a 12" sub is small as well. you would need a really long port to have it tuned low enough, unless its a small pvc port.

mtx recommends a 1.75ft^3 box so im actually bigger than what there recommending
almost never follow the recomended box size. its almost always on the small side of things. do a bit of reading on here, and you will see why.

Subsonic filter is to cut off possible frequencies in the recording that aren't audible or will damage your equipment. For example, anything below 20hz you'd want to cut it off. Also, SSF is used to cut frequencies below box tuning.

Set your SSF to 25hz and see if your low end is regained.

Also, bass boost off. Did you set your gains, or just throw it half way?

first off MTX's spec box blows the wang i have actually built it when i first got my 9500.

Soooo i know its not your sub cause even in that spec box mine played Looowww

not super low but low enough to make shit shake. so its sounds like its most likely your box or your amp im guessings its a combo nation of both

The box you have is probably tuned really high, which is why your not picking up the lows well. Think you could plug up the port and see if that helps at all?

In terms of low end extension of sealed vs ported, I guess it depends how you define it. A sealed box will play lower than a ported one, it's inherent to the design. A ported box can, if tuned properly, play the lower notes it DOES play louder than that of a sealed box, making it peak in the lower areas. Some would consider that "better" low end extension.

alright,i changed the ssf to around the low 20s,i have the lpf around 75~80 and i adjusted the gains for my sub and its doing a lot better on the diff notes,i still have to try it without bass boost off tho, altho i dont see how thats going to really help
