WOAH another XXX question!

Getting my box done... NOW for comps and such... what HZ do you think I should use? I heard 45-50? Which one could I use and not damage my sub?

then with my Port plug im going to drop it down to 35... but Want a couple ideas

Unless you're just gonna use it for competitions, but then, you probably wouldn't have a XXX.....

I've got mine tuned at 30 Hz. I'd try to go with somewhere between 25-30 Hz for music, but that's just me.

For competing, try 45ish, that seems to be the default port setting for competitors. As for a port plug, I think you'd be much happier with a tuning level of around 30 hz, I think that'd help get the most out of the low-end extension of the XXX.

Right now the XXX is in a 35hz box... FOR COMPS I want it tuned higher... to hit harder... obviously.... now you think 45 is good? ANYONE ELSE actually done this? or tryed this?

Can I go higher? Or will 45 be good? Will going higher hurt the sub? Give me some info!

I stated in the first post.. it was for comps.. and why not a XXX? my XXX hits harder then my SX... just cause it has ALOT more capibility of SQ then SPL doesnt mean anything... the box is 90% of the sound man...

tuning to 45 wont make it "hit harder." in fact, your car will most likely sound a little quieter. loud the ear and loud to the mic are two different things. tuning around 45 is a good place to start. no one gets loud by just making one box/one design.

I'd try 45. I know my comp box is a lot louder then my DD box. 45hz compared to 28hz. Deffenetly going in the 40's will make you very happy. Love how loud my LI gets in my comp box but i do miss my lows from my DD box. Still need to hear this beast some time. Might have to meet up again some time...

I agree 100 percent i have kicker comp vrs...in a crappy box you could barely tell they were there once i had a good box made my friend who is very experienced i was setting of alarms with ease...

but as far as tuning goes...just do it so it sounds good...i did the whole competition thing and its awesome for about 10 seconds....but who can drive around bumpin at full power...im glad i didnt go pure spl because i can still listen to music...
