Yea it was the quickest and simplest way for me to explain it. You've got to take in many other factors (Thank goodness for efficient amps...), but its still the same principle.Try the largest alt you can fit before wasting money on batteries. One under the hood is always a good thing though. I run close to 6000 rms and I could pull out my two 67ah batteries in the back and be fine. The 500 amp draw mentioned is worse case and you will never see that daily. I don't drop under 14.1v full tilt, that's never going to touch the batteries, all they do is kill gas mileage. I've been thinking of pulling them out but they actually are part of the install.
