wiring xbox into car

my idea is after reading how ur blowing fuses and now this u need to quit installing stuff lol jk had to bust ur balls.....

the power inverter makes the noise? i run power tools at work off one all the time, but it's much more than a 400 watt inverter. for them to claim it'll run small power tools, must mean the smallest most pathetic power tools on earth. sorry i have no help on the xbox though.

Run 8 gauge to a bus bar and hook the inverter to that! I did that to my uncles big truck and it works even better than before. (he was *****in about the microwave)

Make sure all the grounds in the area are in the same place too.

Does your XBOX have one of those GFCI plugs they released? If anything, I'd say a defective unit, as I've had a PS2 and and an XBOX off an even lower rated inverter.

And yea, Cig lights have **** for current draw, may need a direct source. Mine didn't, but different cars and such.

okay i found out why it wasnt showing on the screen, i had to turn the av to on in the set up, but its still buzzing like crazy, now my question is should i run the clamps to the battery and run it straight off the battery?

Wrench, what do you mean a bus bar?

Rim23, haha actually i am pretty good at working electronics but if something is screwed up it pisses me off when i cant figure it out.

Hoxie, its a pioneer avic-n2

Its a modded xbox, i hooked it up to an extension cord just now and it worked fine, then i plugged it into the inverter and got the horrible noise, it is a refurb inverter so maybe i got a defective one. I will try the clamps tomorrow.

okay so i couldnt wait til tomorrow so i went out and ran it thru my battery, worked a lot better, the inverter itself didnt buzz but it caused interference in my system, the screen had lines going through it and there was a buzz in my speakers/sub. I do have a full system with 2 amps running off the battery, would the 2 power sources cause the interference?

update, okay turns out the buzzing is an alarm to let me know my battery is getting low, which it was since i had left my doors open the other day while working on my car and i forgot to disconnect the battery, so i charged it up today and it runs great thru the cig lighter but i still get a faint buzzing, not bad but faint, would it fix that if i grounded it to the body of the car?
