ok this is kinda hard to explain but im gonna try..... i have a sub with 2 possitive and 2 negative coils on each side.... i have one set on one side and one on the other hooked up to a 2 ch amp.... now what im asking is if it would be alright if i hooked the other pairs of coils up to the other channel...

what sub is it? are you saying you have a quad voice coil sub? Please list the model of the sub and also of the amp as well, so we can better recommend a wiring configuration for you.

It sounds like you have a dvc 4 ohm subs that has multiple speaker outputs. Do not think of it as 4 + and 4 - terminals (thus a quad voice coil sub - unless it is), think of it as a dvc sub with pairs of terminals to aid in wiring multiple subs together. Post the model and brands of the sub and the amp.
