Wiring two 2-ohm DVC subs to mono amp?

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum. Just a quick question: What is the best way to wire two 2 ohm DVC subs to a mono amp? The subs are rockford P32D-10's and the amp is a Kenwood KAC 9105D. Thanks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the best way would be in series/parralel... at 2 ohms

That's actually how I have them wired right now. But the thing is when the subs hit, the amp will flicker and the subs will kind of miss, and they sound pretty terrible. I have called Kenwood and talked to a few people, but nobody seems to really know what they're talking about because I've gotten about 3 different answers... I have been told that it has to do with the subs being two DVC's running at 2 ohms and that the mono amp won't work with them. That's about all they could tell me. Any suggestions from you more experienced guys?

I have messed with the gain setting, and it will stop it from flickering if I set it down really low, but as you can probably guess it sounds like s*** when its turned down all the way. As soon as I turn it up to where it sounds ok, it flickers again and sounds terrible. And yeah I knw it's not exactly the greatest amp, but Im on a tight budget and can't really afford any better.. lol. And sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is "out of phase?" Sorry i'm new to all of this..

This is what I was thinking, but the thing is that I'm currently using a Kenwood KAC 7205 1000 watt amp (unbridged) and it sounds a ton better than the 1800 watt, and the gain is not cranked up past where it should be, nor is the bass boost. This is also a 2 channel amp though, not a mono. Is a mono really a good choice for two 2 ohm DVC subs, or should I just buy another stereo amp? Because no matter how I adjust and try to tune this amp, it just does not work correctly....

Sounds like a gain problem. You trying to over compinsate for the amp lack of power and sending the subs a clipped signal. Distortion makes it sound louder but its killing the subs with heat

2 ohm subs are usually for one of 2 things....

guys who want to run at 2 ohms, cuz their amp isnt 1 ohm stable.... or guys who want to run at .5 ohms, to pull serious power (if their amp will take it)... and how do you "adjust and tune" the amp? how do you set your gain? is it just by ear, or actually using a dmm/o-scope?

You do know thats not a 1800 watt amp right.. those are max output numbers.. Numbers you will never see
