Wiring to 1-ohm

Im wondering if I did it right. I have speaker wire on both VCs. Gold is positive silver is negative. I took the gold from each side and twisted them together and put them on the positive for the amp and same thing for the silver except its in the negative. Did I do it right?

What impedance are the voice coils? If each coil was 2ohm, and you only wired 2 coils together, then you did it right.

Its a D2. It looks like this:

JL audio has a good diagram of hooking up subs, talks about svc and dvc along with ohms. go to JL website then click support tab, then choose subs and enclosures then go from there.

Shows that the positives are wired together and then to the amp and same for negatives or am I thinking wrong and it really means how I did it above.

Yeah positives go together, and negatives go together. Sounds right to me.

But I think coming from amp that wire needs to go to VC1, then from VC1 take additional wire to VC2. So the VC1 pos and neg should have two wires going to it.

if its a d2, pos to pos. neg to neg. and that will give you 1 ohm.

Anyone got pics of how their D2 is wired to 1-ohm? Based on JL I have it wrong and need to change it.

Just run a speaker wire from each coil's terminal of the sub to the pos/neg terminals of the amp (whichever that terminal on the sub is, run it to the same terminal on the amp) and it'll be 1 ohm.

So you'd have:

-2 runs of speaker wire on the amp's positive terminal, each going to a positive terminal on the sub

-2 runs of speaker wire on the amp's negative terminal, each going to a negative terminal on the sub

Thats how it is saturn. I have pictures. The way it was when I picked it up was 2 sets of wires. Each set had a positive and negative. I took the positives and wired them to the positive on the amp and negatives to the negative on the amp.

The way the diagrams show is the positive runs to a positive and then a positive to the amp and same for negatives. Are both ways correct?

the way you have it wired is the same impedance as what the JL pic shows you just used more wire is all.
