Well this is my first post on this forum and its a bit of a pickel.
I have recently started putting a stereo in my 03 toyota tacoma xtra cab. I went with the following
Alpine cde-9881 head unit
Alpine type r 5 1/4 components up front
Alpine type r 5x7 coaxials in back
Alpine mrp-f250 speaker amp
Alpine type r 10 subwoofer
Alpine mrp-m650 subwoofer amp
Everything has been going smooth with the install. I wanted to do it my self but I have no time nor space. So I'm paying a shop to do the work.
This is where my issue comes in.
I spent good money buying scorch twisted 16 guage speaker wire and was originally planning to do it straight from the speakers too the amp. But due too a lack of time to install the whole stereo at once the installer opted for a different idea.
His idea was to put in the new speakers and deck in one day. Then to go back a few days later and just remove the deck and join the stock speaker wire too the new scorch wires behind the deck and run it to the amp.
This means the stock wiring will still be going from the speakers to the back of the deck and then the new wiring will be hooked up from their and ran to the amp.
He said this is a simpler way to do it and he claims I wont lose any sound quality or at least not enough to ever notice.
What do you all think?
Thanks
