Wiring question

So I got a 97 jetta without a radio so I bought the radio side harness that connects to car side.. but the car was missing a harness and there was a single big wire with like an aux cord end to it. Is that wire used for a certain aftermarket radio or? Thanks for your thoughts in advance

I've got a '95 version sitting in my driveway.

Can you post up a pic of the radio opening? I sure hope the wiring is still in tact. If not, that can be a huge problem.

Sounds like the antenna cable.
