Wiring Question

I have a factory tape player in the car now, i want to put in two subs and an amp. Can i just hook up everything normally, like the amp and stuff, but can i slice the two back factory speaker wires and put those to my amp? and then hook the subs in also, and is that it? ill be good to go with the speaker stuff?

I would suggest a LOC - Line Output Converter. You do basically just what you described. Splice the wires for the rear speakers. instead of running them to the amp. You run them to the LOC. Then you can use RCA's to the amp from the LOC. Which means you can use pretty much any amp you want. What is a LOC? sorry im new at this. Also i dont have RCA cables, im sure i can get them if i have too but my installer said this is easier, wht are the disadvantages and advantages about this?

An LOC is a line output converter. It takes a high level signal ( speaker outputs ) and turns it into a low level signal. The advantages to using one..... clarity would be my big seller. You get alot cleaner signal with the LOC as opposed to high level inputs. You also can use pretty much any amp you desire. Where as the other way you could only use amps with high level inputs.
